• Located where the brain exits the skull through the foramen magnum of the occipital bone
• centers for regulating respiration actions
• regulates heartrate

• Cordinates sensory input ant movement
• Important for balance and cordination

Hypothalamus-

• Part of the Diencephalon
• Major regulator of homeostasis (ex. hunger and fullness)

Pineal Gland-

• Part of the Diencephalon
• Maintains the body clock
• Secretes melatonin which is important in our sleep wake cycle
